Creating a Targeted Ad Campaign
One of the great features found in the "AdQuick" software, is the "Targeted Ads" feature. This allows an advertiser to create an ad that will run on many websites at once. Advertisers can target certain websites which their ad will appear on by selecting certain categories, locations, keywords and languages.
This guide will show you how to create a targeted ad campign from the advertisers perspective and will also expain how the publisher should set upto their account so that targeted ads show on their website.
Setting a Publishers Account Up To Show Targeted Ads.
The first thing a publisher must do is log into their account and then click on the, "My Websites" link. Once on this page, they must select the website that they want to show targeted ads on. You will then see this page below,
In the above image, you will see a large black arrow pointing to the option which the publisher must select, "Yes". Beside the Yes/No option, you will see another option which says, "Minimum Click Through Rate For Potential Targeted Advertisers". This is the mimimum amount that the publisher wants to be paid for every "Targeted Ad" that is clicked whilst being show on their website. The website owners will still of course take their percentage from each click, and that rate depends on what the website owners have set their rate at.
For a publisher to get as many targeted ads to show on their website, they should fill out as many details as possible on this page (seller_mywebsites.php), such as the categories , "Tags" and what language their website is in. When the publishers chooses their "Tags" that best descscribe their website, these are the tags/keywords that will be matched to potential advertisers, when they create a targeted ad campaign using keywords.
Creating an Advertisers Targeted Ad Campaign
The first thing an advertiser must do is log into their account. Once they are logged in, they must click on the "Buy Run Of Network Ads" link, and this will take to them to the page where they create their targeted ad campaign, as seen below.
The first thing the advertiser will do is name their campaign and select what kind of ads they will be running such as, text ads, image ads or video ads (If the website has it turned on).
The advertiser then has the choice to just show their ads everywhere and just select all the default options which are already selected.
If the advertiser wants to target their ad campaign a little more, they can select certain categories or even choose a certain location, so that their ad will only show on websites which has users from a certain geographic location such as "North America"
When it comes to keyword targeting, the advertiser must enter keywords that exactly match those keywords/tags that the publisher set on their seller_mywebsites.php page. The advertiser can of course just leave the keywords option blank, and this will make sure their website appears on a greater variety of websites.
Once the advertiser has set all of these options, they must the click the "Next Step -Set Budget" button, and this will take them to this page as seen below,
On this page, this is where they set how much they want to spend on their advertising campaign. They need to set how much they want to spend in total and also how much they want to spend each day, but probably the most important option is the one that says, "What Is Your Maximum CPC? (Cost Per Click)". This is where the advertiser chooses what the maximum they want to pay for each click is. For example, lets say the advertiser doesn't want to pay more than $0.05 per click, then that means that advertiers ad campaign will only show on a publishers website which has a "Minimum Click Through Rate For Potential Targeted Advertisers" rate equal or lower as set by the publisher on the seller_mywebsites.php page. So if Publisher1 sets their mimimum click through rate at $0.04, and Advertiser1 sets their maximum click through rate at $0.05, then that advertisers ad will show on that publishers website and they will pay $0.04 per click.
After the advertiser has set their budgets, they will then be taken to the page where they create their ad and complete their purchase by paying. Once the advertiser has bought their ad cmapgin, their ads will start showing instantly. The advertiser can edit their ad campaign at any time or pause it if they want.
