Like all software companies, we have a constant battle with software piracy, so we’re always thinking of ways to battle back. AdQuick 2.2 is due to be released in the next few days, and this upgrade will include a small change, compared to our previous AdQuick updates.

Here is how it works…….. When you receive your AdQuick 2.2 update, that copy of the software will be unique to you. It will have several unique identifiers which will link it to you and your license key. This way, if our software is ever uploaded to illegal software download sites, we can just look at the software on the illegal site and straight away know who put the software there.

Once we have identified who’s unique copy of AdQuick this belongs to, we will cancel that users license, and pass their details onto our lawyers. We will also never send any future updates to that user.

We need to stress, that at no point will these “Unique Identifiers” allow us to keep tabs on your software and how your website is running or anything like. Absolutely no sensitive information will be tracked. This is just a way of us being able to see who is uploading our software illegally.
